This book started as a lockdown project in March 2020. I’d just lost all my event photography work, right when it was really starting to take off and *just* turning profitable, and after two weeks of lockdown I knew that career was dead in the water… which has largely turned out to be true. I had a very vivid dream about a girl who was hiding her true nature going into a prison for changeling fae, helping out a kid she used to babysit who had just changed into a giant, and finding someone like herself there… imprisoned but openly himself, and more or less running the place.
About seven or so total rewrites later, and around 500,000 words written for segments between books one and seven (fae stories don’t like linear timelines), “Strangeling” is now up on Amazon!
